Supervise Relocation
Each project is individually tailored to meet your specific requirements. We work closely with the architect, facility manager and administration manager to ensure all areas of concern are addressed; where furniture items and storage will be placed; discussions with the IT and telephony teams, through to the actual supervision of the physical relocation and settling in process.
The Relocation Planner consults on a vast range of services specific to libraries. From initial conception, we can assist with storage design, collection mapping and layout, budgeting, to full relocation supervision. We also assist with practical information and guidance regarding any service disruption to users and staff.
A considerable amount of time and effort is put into the relocation schedule. This document details, when specific suppliers are required to de-commission and re-commission individual items; when chemicals are to be packed and transported; and when each laboratory is to be relocated. We also work closely with statutory bodies that govern laboratories to determine how Bio-Hazardous and dangerous material should be relocated.
Most items relocated by cultural institutions are of high value and are generally irreplaceable. The Relocation Planner will ensure that considerations are given so items are correctly packaged and prepared for relocation. We also ensure security procedures and protocols are observed at all times and strict handling guidelines are adhered to.

Stephen recently had all encompassing responsibility for the relocation of the University of Melbourne, MHRI and Howard Florey Institute into the new “Melbourne Brain Centres” at the Austin Hospital in Fairfield and Melbourne University in Parkville.
Over the past 5 years Stephen has also managed the transition and installation of 4 new building projects at Swinburne University Hawthorn Campus as well as the closure and relocation of the entire Lilydale and Prahran Campuses.
